Vera Bradley purses
Saturday Mornings at home
Summer movies
A new book to read
Only 24 more days of school
Date nights with my hubby
Bare minerals makeup
Watching all 3 kids playing together and laughing
My back porch

Okay, your turn! Try to think of some favorite things you are thankful for. Please feel free to list them in my comment section, I would love to hear yours too!!

A little boy

I have a homeschool friend who called me several months ago about a little boy that is in foster care and may be up for adoption this spring. I made a few phone calls about it and it seemed like a dead end, so I have not given it a whole lot of thought. Yesterday my friend called again and said that this little boy had a court date for May 1 for the parental rights to be terminated and he would be available for adoption.

So I called his social worker and she was very nice and said she needed to talk to her supervisor since we lived in another county that this little boy and if he didn't have a problem with that, she didn't see why we couldn't proceed!

I talked to FBCH and told them and they said that they didn't think it would be a problem and they would help us in any way they could.

Basically this is all we know. He is a boy, he is white, he is around 16 months old ,he has been in the same foster home since birth and the foster parents are in their 50's and don't feel like they should adopt him. He has reddish brown curly hair, no health problems and it doesn't look like any parents or relatives are able or desire to keep him.

I am trying to not get to excited and just pray about this, but I wanted to let you all know and to pray with us. If there is any more news, I will let you know.

Relay for life

We went to the Rely for Life in Bartow tonight. It was soo much fun. I had never been to one before, but we saw a lot of people we knew and ate so much food. We did not stay for the walk, but there was a ton of people there and Bartow Ford had a red Mustang to lead the first lap for the survivors. It was really cool.

Sun-N-Fun Fly In

The Sun n Fun??? Fly in

Yesterday we went to the Sun N Fun flying festival that comes to Lakeland every year. It coast about $30 to get into the thing, but with our home school group the kids were free and I was 5 bucks. The form also said it was from 10-12. I thought we could handle two hours of airplanes, but boy was I wrong!!!!
It was soo hot and I didn't bring sunscreen or water bottles with us. We were about 20 min late getting started and when the tour actually began, my kids were already beginning to wilt. We walked and walked and heard all about every kind of flying machine imaginable and then we walked some more! Finally about an hour and a half into the tour we went inside a fighter plane and that was pretty cool, but when we walked back out into the sun, Esther had a meltdown!!
She started crying and yelling that she was hot and hungry and tired of walking and everything smelled like Llama poop and she was gonna throw up!! So, I told the leader of the group we were gonna leave a little early, especially when the tour guide said we had another hour of touring to go!!
I took everyone to McDonald's for Happy Meals and after a cheeseburger and lemonade in the air conditioned van, all was right again with the world!! It was funny cause it kinda reminded me of a trip to Washington DC and my dad making us tour the Air and Space museum for what seemed like hours and here I go, putting my kid through the same thing!!!

I have some pictures I will post that I took during the 1st half hour that show us enjoying the field trip.

7 more years till she is a teenager!

Last night on the way home from church Esther kept getting louder and louder and Greg kept telling her to be quiet. Finally he just said okay no more talking until we get home. Well Essie began squeaking and moaning instead, so Greg told her when we get home go straight up to your room. Well, he took the wooden spoon upstairs and gave her a talking to and a few swats.
When I went up to kiss her goodnight here is how our conversation went:

Me: Did you get a spanking?
Her: Ya know that dad that is a preacher and he is married to a homeschool mom who has three kids?
Me: Yeah?
Her: Well, he is really really smart!
Me: Why?
Her: Did you see how he handled me with that wooden spoon? No more bad choices for me!!
Me: (Trying sooo hard not to laugh!) Did it hurt?
Her: No, it felt like an indian burn, but don't tell him, it might hurt his feelings!

Oh My goodness! What are we going to do with this child when she becomes a teenager!!!

April Fool's Funny

I really didn't make a big deal about yesterday being April Fool's Day because I didn't want to be on the receiving end of the pranks! Well at dinner Esther decided it would be a funny joke to sit in her daddy's seat at the table. So after she did that we ended up all sitting in each others seat's for an April Fool's funny. Here is how our dinner went:

Greg sitting in Esther's seat and was bouncing around begging to be done and explaining why he couldn't eat his food just like Essie does.

Esther, in her deepest voice starts saying, " Eat your food, sit still!" It was hilarious!

Nathan ,in Abby's seat, started whining about feeling bad (what Abby has been doing since Sunday)

Abby, not to be outdone, starts talking in the most hick accent (what is that about??) how good veggies are for ya'll and how nobody gets cookies till they eat all their veggies! Yes, she was in my seat!

I was in Nate's seat so I started eating with my fingers (yuck!) and then decided I needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of dinner...something Nate is famous for.

It was pretty funny and a cool ending to a very prank free April Fools Day!
